Standards Against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)

At ROMEO, we take the topic of child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) very seriously. Protecting individuals—especially minors—from harm is our highest priority. To ensure a safe and responsible environment, we have implemented strict measures and collaborate closely with authorities to combat any form of CSAE on our platform.

1. Zero-Tolerance Policy

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy toward any activity, content, or behavior involving CSAE, including:

  • Sharing or distributing illegal CSAE content.
  • Grooming or soliciting minors.
  • Using our platform for exploitative or abusive (CSAE) purposes.

Any violation results in immediate account termination and reporting to law enforcement.

2. Collaboration with Dutch and Foreign Authorities

We work very closely with law enforcement agencies, both in the Netherlands and internationally, to combat CSAE effectively and therefore comply with all relevant child protection laws as well as Google Play’s child safety requirements. Our commitments include:

  • Reporting illegal (CSAE) content to the appropriate authorities in the Netherlands.

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant child safety laws.

3. Automated Detection and Detection by the Fraud Prevention Team

As part of our fraud prevention measures, we utilize advanced tools and technology to automatically detect illegal content and suspicious activity. These tools help:

  • Identify and flag harmful content, including CSAE material.
  • Monitor user behavior for signs of exploitation or grooming.
  • Support moderators in investigating and removing violations promptly.

4. User Reporting Mechanisms

We empower our users to take an active role in creating a safe community. Reporting options include:

  • Profile Reporting: Users can easily report profiles they suspect are engaging in harmful or illegal activities.
  • Content Reporting: Users can flag inappropriate or illegal content, such as messages, images, or media shared on the platform.
  • All reports are treated as urgent and are investigated by trained moderators.

5. Immediate Reporting to Authorities

Any illegal content or CSAE-related activity identified on the platform is promptly reported to the appropriate authorities in the Netherlands. This ensures:

  • Swift action is taken to prevent further harm.
  • Compliance with legal obligations to protect minors and vulnerable individuals.

6. Proactive Moderation and Monitoring

Our team of trained moderators is dedicated to ensuring platform safety by:

  • Reviewing flagged content and user reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with our zero-tolerance policy.
  • Taking immediate action, such as removing harmful content and banning offenders.
